Machaon?

Or some other Papilio. According to Wikipedia there are more than 200 species in this genus and i guess i'll have hard times trying to identfy it. :)
UPD 31.03: i think i found some info about this butterfly. It seems to be Luehdorfia puziloi, The Early Spring Swallowtail. But i still looking for more info.

Not a fly

It was a very hot day yesterday. All our dogs and cats came into the house to hide from the heat, as well as a couple of these creatures. It looks like a fly but it isn't: my father says he saw them living on dogs. I tried to identify it but failed so any help is welcome.

Refuelling
These creatures look like a little plastic robots:

They actually behave like robots too. All their life is a simple program: search for food, get materials to build a nest, reproduce. Then the program ends with an end of season.

Hunter's dinner

I found this Mantis in our garden. I knew they are good hunters, but haven't seen such a big specimen in action in such a good detail. He has a very good appetite, it took him five or so minutes to finish the dinner, and he didn't missed a crumb. Seems like the grasshopper has been alive almost until the end... It was disgusting but at the same time very interesting to watch this scene. More (lot of) images after the break.
