I found this Mantis in our garden. I knew they are good hunters, but haven't seen such a big specimen in action in such a good detail. He has a very good appetite, it took him five or so minutes to finish the dinner, and he didn't missed a crumb. Seems like the grasshopper has been alive almost until the end... It was disgusting but at the same time very interesting to watch this scene. More (lot of) images after the break.

These are some really nice shots you have. I used to have a pet mantis for a few months and I enjyoed taking images of it. Hope i'll be able to find another one in this concrete jungle I currntly reside in!

Mantis are very intelligent creatures, it's always interesting to watch them. We have lots of them in our garden, they fight grasshoppers and flies very well.
